Remedial CAPS at Elsen
The Remedial CAPS Phase admits learners who struggle with learning barriers and high anxiety from traditional schooling. While following the CAPS curriculum, learners can complete Grade 8 and 9, over 18 months, respectively. This extended version of the Grade 8 and 9 curriculums affords the learners the opportunity of a high school experience, while being supported in a nurturing, holistic environment thereby addressing their specialized needs. Learners who achieve a Remedial CAPS Grade 9 pass, may then apply to a Technical, Vocational Educational Tertiary Institution (TVET).
To be admitted into the Remedial CAPS phase, a learner must achieve a minimum of 45% for English Home Language in Grade 7 or 8.
Grade 8 with Grade 9 starting in 2025
